A short visit to LHR in the afternoon of May 18th 2006 following the arrival of the first A380 flight.

A quick chase of 47145 and 47355 on the Serco test train on the Shepperton branch, back to Kingston and then through Strawberry Hill.

A very quick spin down to Southampton on June 16th 2006 and a stop at Weybridge on the way back from Alton on June 13th 2006.

A short spell at Carpenders Park on a cloudy afternoon in June 2009. My only available afternoon of the week was the only cloudy one, although amid the odd brief shower the sun tried to break through just enough for about half a dozen semi-decent shots, everything else was ISO200 and open that aperture as wide as possible to maximise the shutter speed on the high speed Pendolinos as they whizzed through.

A trip down to Southampton brought plenty of freight, some good liveries and lots of sunny weather.

A few shots on a boiling hot day when I headed down to Trumps Mill Bridge to get the 'Blue Pullman', ended up with quite a few 'Blue' Desiros too!

April 9th 1988 saw a visit to Toton with NREA, pick up was from Derby and the first stop was Derby works followed by Toton and then back to Derby after which I dropped by Bescot on the way home to Swindon which also included my first trip on a Class 155!

A quick dash up to Horley followed by a spirited jog to the footpath off The Crescent Road got me in position just in time for the 1505 'Flying Pig' to Victoria, the light was just right for a couple of hours before the shadows got too long and it became home time!

A quick jaunt up to Portchetser after work was followed by a dash down to Cosham to check out a photo spot I hadn't used for around ten years, and my reward was a nice shot of a 450/444 Desiro mash-up!

February 14th 2009 saw my wife take in the Aviation Viewing Park at Manchester for the first time, we had a decent time but the weather was predictably awful so it was only a short visit. Next time maybe we'll get better weather.

The first spell of good weather of the spring coupled with some early finishes at work meant a break for the sun was required, day one was Eastleigh but the traffic was very poor and I wish I had gone elsewhere.

On Feb 21st 2009 34067 Tangmere made a visit to Portsmouth to operate a charter to Waterloo via Laverstock and return via the mainline. Runn ing as 1Z91 I caught the train as it passed through Fratton in glorious spring sunshine, the ECS was 5Z91 handled by 47787.

The final day of the holiday and we arrived at the airport around 9am for our 12.30 flight, giving us plenty of time to look around the new Terminal 3.

A short visit to Clapham and Wandsworth in difficult light.

After the obligatory rain shower we went to Chinatown and followed it with a trip to Little India.

A warm start to our afternoon was followed the inevitable torrential downpour. After retiring to the hotel to change clothes we ventured out to see the Christmas lights in Orchard Road.

A quite disappointing visit to the greatly reduced viewing gallery in Terminal 1 at Changi, looks like we got there just in time as there is a redevelopment pending. Unfortunately the weather was quite poor and the traffic was not too great either.

A trip up to the airport returning by MRT and then a wander from the Esplanade to the Merlion statue and then around Clarke Quay for some night shots.

The rain started just as we left the zoo at around 4pm and continued through to around mid afternoon the following day, the evening brought a stunning lightning storm.

This was my fourth or fifth visit to one of the world's best zoos, and each visit brings new photo oppurtunities.
